Licensing

Mechanical License

If you are going to record a song onto a CD. The statutory rate, as established and revised by the Library of Congress, is the rate that applies to mechanical licenses. The current rate is $.091 per unit, per song for songs five minutes and under. Songs over five minutes in length are $.0175 per minute rounding up to the next minute (e.g. a song that is 6:01 in length would be rounded to seven minutes and multiplied by $.0175).

If you are manufacturing less than 5,000 units, we will issue a license for One-Time Manufacture in which there is a one time flat licensing fee for the specified number of units. If you are manufacturing a more than 5,000 units, please contact us for further details.

Digital Phonorecord Delivery (DPD) License

If you are going to record a song and release it via the world wide web (e.g. iTunes, etc.). The current statutory rate is the rate that applies. Royalties are paid on a quarterly basis based on the current statutory rate time the number of digital downloads within the previous calendar quarter.

Non-Commercial Synchronization (Sync) License
